Harley Davidson Forty Eight

Meet the new 2014 Harley Davidson Forty Eight. Compared to the previous generation the new version gained a new color, stronger brakes and more comfortable hand controls. The biggest improvement is represented by the new closed loop exhaust system which enhances the engine's performances and makes it more environmentally friendly. The new exhaust system features a twin design, new durable mufflers with exhaust shields, a catalyst and mini heated oxygen sensors.

Perhaps it goes without saying that the motorcycle continues to be propelled by the old, air-cooled 1200cc, Evolution engine which cranks out a maximum torque of 70.8 ft-lb at 3,500 rpm. The engine features electronic fuel injection and light, aluminum heads and cylinders. Its power is sent to the ground via a modern six speed transmission.

In terms of style the 2014 Harley Davidson Forty-Eight comes with black powder-coated cylinders, lots of chrome, a peanut fuel tank and a round headlight.
The bike is offered with a base price of $ 10,749.

Clean Rear End Styling

When the look is fast and smooth, details count and clutter does not make the cut. We carefully crafted the rear end with retro-styled Stop-Turn-Tail lights and a side-mounted license plate to leave the fender surface clean and uncluttered for an authentically raw, custom look. And while the lamps may look old-school, it's their new-school engineering that keeps things clean, packing stop, turn and running beams into each bullet.

Classic Peanut Fuel Tank

First appearing on a Harley-Davidson® motorcycle back in 1948-and providing the inspiration for the Forty-Eight® model name-the small 2.1 gallon tapered peanut fuel tank holds strong today with its traditional styling and modern attitude. A low, powerful bulldog look that gives way to showcasing more engine, the peanut fuel tank is attitude and looks all balled up into one.

Hard Candy Custom ™ Paint

Hard Candy Custom ™ is a shining declaration of independence-bright, bold and unique. The Sportster Forty-Eight® is available in Hard Candy Chrome Flake and Hard Candy Volcanic Orange. Recalling the iconic rebel styling of '70s custom bikes, Hard Candy Custom ™ paint marks another milestone in The Motor Company's legacy of innovation. We start with several passes of 200 micron flake over a black base, then clear coat it, hand-lay the graphics, and apply the many layers of clear coat to allow the flake to shine through. It's a painstaking process that delivers a premium custom look straight from the factory, so you can start flying your colors with no waiting or extra effort.

Evolution® Engine Heritage

The Evolution® engine-known in certain crowds as the blockhead-was first bolted to the frame of a Harley-Davidson® motorcycle back in 1984. Born from legendary Shovelhead and Ironhead engines, the Evolution® engine broke new ground in displacement innovation while maintaining the hunger for power, durability and proven reliability that The Motor Company was built on.

Evolution® Engine Innovation

Air-cooled and durable as hell, the 1200cc Evolution® engine is yet another nod to the unwavering work ethic that drives advancements in motor technology at Harley-Davidson. Aluminum heads and cylinders lighten the load of the bike and improve air-cooling efficiency. Electronic fuel injection says goodbye to carburetors and offer increased reliability and less routine maintenance. Bottom line: the rubber-mounted Evolution® engine runs hard and rides smooth for thousands of miles so you can just worry about taking in the freedom of the open road.

Pure Harley-Davidson Styling

Feast your eyes on the 1200cc Evolution® engine and there's no mistaking its roots. This is authentic Harley-Davidson style motorcycle company. Black powder-coated cylinders and cylinder heads are topped off with chrome rocker covers, while chrome pushrods highlight the iconic V-Twin. It's a jewel machined out of metal. Pure. Dripping with power. From the classic edge of the cooling fins to the clean lines of cases and covers-the 1200c Evolution® engine makes an ironclad statement to hold on to what's right and staying true to what satisfies the rider.

New Foundation Brake System

Like riding yourself, you can not get too much when it comes to improving a bike's brakes. This is why for 2014 we give the brake system of each Sportster model a complete overhaul designed to improve performance, fit and finish. We increased the size of the brake rotors from 292mm to 300mm, and added a more powerful, stylized front caliper with 34mm pistons, and stylized rear caliper to match. Other system features include an all-aluminum integrated rear master cylinder with reservoir, new all-aluminum front master cylinder with reduced friction and higher efficiency, and stainless steel braided lines. It all adds up to more confidence on the road, and more power and predictability when you squeeze the brakes.

Anti-Lock Brakes (ABS) (Optional)

When the burrito exit comes out of nowhere, you'll need a little extra braking power. That's why we're proud to introduce optional anti-lock brakes (ABS) on all Sportster models. ABS improves overall braking performance, and keeps you from locking up under heavy braking. Plus, the entire system is smartly integrated into the design of the bike, so nothing gets in the way of your steel work of art. Because what's the point of stopping if you can not make a few heads turn?

Forward-Mounted Controls

With the custom forward-mounted controls on the Forty-Eight® model, you can kick back a little and stretch your legs for the ultimate cruise through town or across the state line. It's time to take in the open road the way you were meant to-on a two-wheeled machine that's built to outdo the rest.

Harley Davidson Sportster 1200 Custom

A staple in the line, the 2017 Harley-Davidson Sportster 1200 Custom is a classic cruiser that is accessible to newer riders, while providing the style and power needed to compete in urban environments.

While I certainly enjoy the big-inch Harley-Davidsons in town, the sub-600 pounds weight of the Sportster 1200 Custom makes it a much more manageable motorcycle in busy areas. The narrow, gently pulled back handlebar means the Custom does not need much room to work its way through traffic.

The torquey 1202cc Evolution of the motor has plenty of thrust down low-peak torque of 71 ft / lbs comes at 3500 rpm-and that means acceleration acceleration is on the tap at any engine speed. As with all the Sportsters, starting up the 1200 Custom is a pleasure-the beast rumbles aggressively to life at the touch of a button. Rubber mounting provides a smooth ride once underway, and the motor shakes ably at stoplights. While not especially loud, the staggered exhausts have a good sound.

Riding the Sportster 1200 Custom has a sense of effortlessness, as the response to the input rider is fully predictable and intuitive, and certainly not lightning quick in response. The forward foot controls, comfortable two-up seats, and the friendly handlebar are the riders of ergonomics that define cruiser.

Harley-Davidson outfits the Custom with identical 16-inch wire-spoke wheels front and back, and the tires mounted are nearly the same width-the rear Michelin Scorcher 31 is just 20mm wider than the front. This balance makes the Custom easy to ride, and unintimidating. Additionally, rider comfort is assisted by the high-profile tires that blunt hits before they get to the limited suspension travel.

To keep the Sportster 1200 Custom low-seat height is just 28 inches-Harley-Davidson goes with shorter suspension. That limits cornering clearance, and you can easily touch down the feelers.

While the rear suspension allows just a touch over two inches of wheel travel, it makes the most out of it with the spring-preload adjustable emulsion shocks-you really do think there's more. The single cartridge fork design is a decent match, although the 4.1 inches of front suspension travel is hardly plush. You will feel the rougher road, which I do not really mind on the Custom, but hard jolts are usually kept from the rider.Everything about the 2017 Harley-Davidson Sportster 1200 Custom says mellow attitude. The engine does not rev at a rapid pace, the 30 degrees of rake and wide front tire slow down steering, cornering clearance is limited (especially on the right), and the riding position is casual.

Canyon runs are best taken at a friendly pace, as either your boot heel or the pegs feelers will hit the pavement regularly. With the relaxed chassis and meaty front tire, the Sportster 1200 Custom feels very stable in corners. For newer riders, the sense of security is abundant. For seasoned riders, just kick back and ride with confidence. The Michelin Scorcher 31s definitely do their part, and tire performance is never an issue.

BMW Lo Rider

BMW presents the Lo Rider concept at EICMA in Milan as a new approach to the roadster style and with plenty of customization possibilities available in order for man to become one with the machine. Based on the future rider's preferences, the muscular looking concept will feature customer combined minor design elements or even customer opted headlamp units, fuel tanks, and front and rear fenders.

BMW Press Release:

Leading the way with concept studies - a BMW Motorrad tradition. BMW Motorrad has a tradition of coming up with new ways and ideas when it comes to motorcycling. Fascinating studies and designs have been produced in the past using ideas which then found their way into serial production. But studies by BMW Motorrad is about more than just trying to develop a motorcycle which has not existed in a given form before. In addition to functions and quality, BMW developers focus on the emotional component - the connection between man and motorcycle. The guiding principle is that a motorcycle should not just function perfectly but should also appeal to all the riders' senses simultaneously, arouse an emotional response in him and fill him with enthusiasm at every moment - when stationary and where moving, as a whole and in its detail. In short: it has to light the fire.

Emotion through interaction - individualization made-to-measure.

BMW Lo Rider - image 272049
With the BMW Lo Rider study presented at the EICMA in Milan, BMW Motorrad is not really demonstrating a continuation of this policy but is in fact taking a step forward in focusing on the interaction between man and motorcycle. The idea is that for the fi rst time, the customer should be interactively involved in the design of his BMW - going beyond the familiar adding of special equipment features and accessories. The customer is to be much more deeply involved in the design of the Lo Rider from the outset, creating a customized, made-to-measure machine based around the principal components such as engine and chassis.

Classic meets modern - a combination of stylistic elements from different eras.

The study Lo Rider does not belong to the classic motorcycle segments - and it is not supposed to. It combines the latest technical attributes of high performance sports motorcycles with the traditional, classic principles of motorcycle construction. State-of-the-art chassis components from sports motorcycle construction such as the powerful upside-down fork, 6-piston brake calipers with real bite and wide 17-inch tires. sixties. For example, with the exhaust system in a traditional bottom position in side pipe style creates a classic roadster or cool cruiser look, while a raised exhaust system is reminiscent of legendary racing machines or typical scrambler models of days gone by. Together with a range of variously designed seat concepts, as well as differing paint fi nish versions, the BMW Lo Rider offers the motorcycle fan a wealth of possibilities by means of which to interpret the roadster theme in a highly individual way according to his own personal taste was founded on a single basic motorcycle. In fact the Lo Rider gives the creativity of its rider almost completely free rein.

Chassis and engine - state-of-the-art technology based on classic principles.

The mixture of classic and modern stylistic elements of motorcycle construction combined with state-of-the-art technology is what gives the Lo Rider its defining look from all angles. A torsionally stiff space frame of sophisticated architecture openly displays the bike's technology and together with the upside-down telescopic fork at the front and Paralever's rear-wheel swing arm provides the modern basis in terms of chassis technology - just as it is to be found in some current models of the BMW Boxer series. What is more, the chassis of the Lo Rider has been lowered as compared to conventional roadsters.

In terms of tyre dimensions, the 17-inch wheels represent the current state of the art for sports motorcycles, though with their chrome wire spokes, black hubs and steel rims they ingeniously echo the characteristic stylistic elements and flair of a past era. By contrast, contemporary technology and a high level of riding dynamics is provided by elements such as the high performance dual brake disk with powerful 6-piston calipers, together with wave brake discs borrowed from motor racing at the front and the single disc brake at the rear. In terms of its engine, the Lo Rider also relies on technology which is both contemporary and full of character - the legendary, highly responsive BMW fl at twin "Boxer" engine. For 85 years, the construction principle of this engine has stood for unmistakable, authentic design, a full torque curve and unique sound and power. In its current version with an output of over 100 bhp, overhead camshafts, electronic fuel injection and exhaust gas purifi cation, the powerful response of this dynamic and distinctive 2-cylinder is simply perfect for the BMW Lo Rider.

The customer as designer - individual designs and paint fi nishes.

The concept study Lo Rider is mainly focused on the two essential components of the motorcycle, the engine and the chassis. Any superfl uous decoration is omitted. Instead, variable components such as the exhaust system, seat, headlamp unit and paint fiishes determine the bike's outward appearance, at the same time defining its conceptual style.

The combination of these classic and modern components is entirely subject to the personal taste of the customer. For example, he can initially express the dominating character of the BMW Lo Rider through the placement of the exhaust system, creating either a sporty style or opting for a more roadsterlike look by having it lowered.

A very sporty effect is created by the classic perch seat made of aluminum sheet metal, while the simple single seat is reduced to the absolute minimum will appeal to purist motorcycle fans. The single seat can also be extended to include a pillion passenger module.

The specification laid down for the development team led by David Robb, Head of Design Development at BMW Motorrad, was that all the conceivable combinations of options that bike should always be retain a rounded, coherent character in itself . Whether with a lift or lowered exhaust system, with sporty perch seat or seat bench for one or two people: the Lo Rider comes over differently every time but always makes an impression.

Lo Rider. With their aggressive, modern design, the vertically arranged dual headlamps give it a touch of the streetfighter, while the classic, semicircular headlamp provides an echo of past times. Once again, the same principle applies: however different the styles thus created may be, they always have a consistent emotional appeal for the rider.

Further possibilities for individual design are available to the customer in the choice of paint fi nish. There are four different colours available for the fuel tank, and with the three different paint fi nishes for the engine casing this allows the customer to create a very distinctive, personal look, defining the character of the Lo Rider as anything from refi ned to sporty . These always harmonize perfectly with the deliberately classic, high-quality aluminum parts such as fuel tank trim, seat holder and wing struts. Different styles can also be created with the front and rear wings which are available either in black or chrome fi nish.

Finally, another element which the harmonizes perfectly with the overall concept of the Lo Rider is the individual adaptable range of rider equipment. This includes classic leather jackets, protector jeans, boots, gloves and authentic jet and integral helmets. This ensures that not only the appearance of the Lo Rider is perfect but that the rider has just the right look, too.

Harley Davidson Street 500 & 750 Motor

Machine

For Harley Davidson Street, the engine used already uses the latest version of Revolution X engine. Both the 500 or 750 version both use the machine. But of course both have different capacities. If Street 500 uses Revolution X engine capacity of 494 cc, Street 750 has engine capacity of 749 cc. Both of these series have a smaller capacity than the other series of the average capacity of 1000 cc and above.

Despite having a relatively lower cubication, the engine type still carries the concept of V-Twin engine that has become typical of Harley output motors but with the latest version called Revolution X engine. The 500 and 750 Street engines have a 6-speed manual transmission and are equipped with liquid-cooled technology. This V-Twin engine has a shaft of 60 degrees with 4 valves per head.

Concept

The concept of Harley Davidson Street is an urban style but still presents the usual classic concept. Harley is known for its slick design. Although impressed vintage, but the Harley motors and the classic impression as it has become a unified whole. So that's what is his trademark. However, Harley also makes other versions of the motor that more futuristic style. But even so less visible uniqueness Harley is usually.

When viewed in plain view, Harley Davidson Street 500 and 750 have a fairly slim body. Even slimmer than the Sportster series. However, flat impression remains visible with the short distance between the ground with a seat that is about 26.3 inches. There is little change in the suspension section that is combined with a wider handlebar. Reportedly, this is indeed deliberately done to accommodate and simplify the novice bikers who are just studying the Harley.

In terms of weight, Street 500 and 750 have a lighter weight of 480 LBS only. When compared with Sportster he is 45 kg lighter. Not bad can reduce the burden to be borne by the beginner moge bikers who are not so familiar with the weight of moge that can reach hundreds of kilos. Wheelbase used also has a size of 59.5 inches. With a simple and fierce concept, Street 500 and 750 can still make anyone's eyes glance at it.

Price Harley Davidson Street 500 And 750

For the price alone, it is definitely Stree series is priced at a cheaper than other series because that's the purpose he produced in India. In order to reduce the cost of production, India was chosen as a country that will help assemble Harley Street. That way, the selling price could be lower. Here's the price list of Harley Street:

Street 500 is priced at 6,700 USD or if dirupiahkan means about 77 millions.

Street 750 is priced at 7,500 USD or about 86 million rupiah.

Harley Davidson SuperLow

The SuperLow line carries few changes into the '17 model year, and for the most part can be considered a direct carryover from 2016. Powered by the 883 cc Evolution engine, the XL 883L delivers modest performance and nimble handling. The slammed suspension puts the rider's butt close to the ground where even the shortest inseams can feel confident and in control with both feet down flat. While on the Street 500/750, it is the smallest of Harley-Davidson's traditional designs and typically serves as a trainer bike for folks interested in air-cooled cruisers.

Design

No matter what changes get made for individual models, all Sportster models come with Harley's narrowest frame and front end, just as they have since the K-model introduced Harley's little sportbike to the world back in the early '50s. This leaves us with a fairly narrow bike with a skinny entry and exit, and an almost un-Sportsterlike profile by virtue of its squat rear end and fuel tank that does not quite lend the same lines as the classic peanut tank. If anything, SuperLow looks more like a miniaturized Super Glide; amazing how much difference a few small changes can make, is not it?

A tapered solo seat rests at 27.4 inches off the ground, unladen, and a 180-pound rider will push that right on down to 25.5 inches high. That's pretty low for a family that has traditionally been fairly tall throughout its history, and almost as low as the discontinued Hugger line.

A riser-mounted speedometer bundles an electronic display with an odometer / trip meter, engine diagnostic interface and idiot lights for low oil pressure and low fuel. Mid-mount controls and a pullback handlebar place the rider in a relaxed cruising position with the ability to lean forward and into the turns when you're feeling a little saucy.

Chassis

Mild-steel tubing makes up the double-downtube, double-cradle frame, and the factory takes its usual pragmatic approach with the skeleton. same with the swingarm that runs a traditional yoke with a rectangular cross-section for strength. Steering-head layout really cranks the forks out there with a 31.1-inch rake with 5.7 inches of trail and a 59.1-inch wheelbase. These numbers are in the straight line, so you can expect it to be fairly stable at speed in spite of the short wheelbase but a trifle reluctant in the corners.
Cast-alloy rims mounted Michelin Scorcher "11" tires with a 120/70 ZR-18 up front and 150/60 ZR-17 in back. These tires are made for Harley-Davidson's specifications, and present a sporty profile with deep grooves meant to aid in water evacuation with a sticky rubber formula to boost overall traction. The cast-in, Bar-and-Shield logos serve no practical purpose, but they are kinda cool all the same.

A single, 300 mm disc and twin-pot caliper slows the front wheel with a 260 mm disc and the same caliper to bind the rear. ABS is not included as part of the model equipment, but it is available as an option so you can have that extra safety net if you really want it. I still think it's better for the development of the skills to learn on a non-ABS bike, but I do concede that it's probably safer with ABS.
Suspension is typical of budget-conscious bikes; the 39 mm, cartridge-type forks run as standard, right-way-up assemblies with fixed preload and damping values. Coil-over emulsion shocks support the rear end with only the most basic preload adjuster. Suspension travel at the axle measures out at 4.11 inches up front, but the rear only moves through a mere 2.13 inches, and represents the trade-off necessary to get that low rear end.

Drivetrain

At 30-years old, some may call the Evolution Sportster an "old" engine, and be that as it may, it's also a proven one, and a design that Harley has been perfecting since the mid '80s. The air-cooled mill runs the typical, 45-degree V-Twin configuration with a cast-in, five-speed transmission case integral with the engine cases. Power flows through the standard wet clutch, and a final belt drive carries the power to the pavement.
The undersquare bore and stroke measure out at 76.2 mm and 96.8 mm, respectively, and this layout delivers the kind of grunt of 53.8 pound-feet of grunt at 3,750 rpm. An electronic, sequential-port fuel-injection system manages to wring 51 mpg out of the mill, but the SuperLow comes minus any sort of variable power delivery and now you can not get a Super Tuner so expect this vanilla engine management system to remain adequate, if a bit bland.

Typical of the breed, a one-lobe cam actuates each of the external pushrods to time the two-valve heads, and the compression ratio is fairly mild at only 9-to-1 so you can get away with mid-grade fuel. All-in-all, a simple, reliable engine that produces enough power to make the bike fun for experienced riders but not so much as to make it unfriendly to new riders.

Price

The '16 SuperLow starts at $ 8,499 in Vivid Black - $ 250 over the 2015 price - and goes on up to $ 9,049 for the two-tone paint option. Buyers looking for a '17 model can tack on another bill to the base price across the board, and expect to pay $ 795 for the ABS and $ 395 for the security options no matter which year they choose. California buyers can also look forward to a $ 100 charge for their emissions package.

Harley Davidson Roadster

Honestly, at first glance I was a little underwhelmed by this new-for-2016 offering from The Motor Company. I thought it was a little sparee, a little spare, and an exercise in understatement. It was not until I started to familiarize myself with the bike that I realized this is the whole point of the design.

Still, my disappointment persisted as I labored under the misconception that this bike was just a lightly modified version of existing Sportster models, but again I was off target for it actually using a slightly different frame than the other Sporties, and comes with enhanced suspension as well. At this point, I abandoned all of my preconceptions and took a slightly more objective look at the Roadster, finally willing to give it an honest chance. This is what I found.

Design

There is no delicate way to say this, so I'll just say it. This is kind of a peculiar-looking machine. Kind of reminds me of the earless, tailless cat named Old Bob that hung out at the shipyard docks. The rear fender comes chopped back to the struts, and the low bars and mirrors lends it the earless look. Word from the factory is the number of influences and mashed them together for this project. Features from the '50s-era KHR models and subsequent racers based on the OHV, "Ironhead" Sportsters made the DNA pool, and the new Roadster carries the same cut-down, bare-bike look.

Although the definition of the word "Roadster" has been added to over time, the modern interpretation of the spartan machine with minimal appointments. That's what we have here, reminiscent of the old "gasser" bikes where everything that did not directly contribute to performance got cut off / removed / uninstalled. I guess one could call the fastback saddle somewhat cafe'-esque, and the lightening holes in the heat shields and belt guard could really come from almost any era.

As a bonafide member of the Dark Custom series of bikes, the Roadster comes with the blackout treatment in full effect from the split-spoke cast rims to the engine, heat shields and shock springs for a final tie-in to Harley's backyard-custom heritage . This ride carries a 2016 model year, to include sportier suspension, finned timing covers, special cast wheels, special seats, and as always, model-specific tank graphics.

While largely unchanged for 2017, the factory did see the wisdom of adding a battery of tender harness as standard equipment

Chassis

The factory pulled the steering head in a bit for 28.9 degrees of rake and 5.5 inches of trail, geometry it is optimized for the agility in keeping with the race-tastic bent of the roadster. A set of 43 mm, usd forks with tri-rate springs supporting the front on 4.5 inches of travel, and a set of gas shocks with tri-rate, coil-over springs and a screw-type preload adjustment on 3.2 inches of travel.

I like inverted forks for their stability and torsion resistance, and these make the Roadster look like serious business, definitely my favorite of the new-from-2016 features. The 19-inch front, and 18-inch rear tires push the seat up to 30.9 inches high, leaving us with 6 inches of ground clearance and the potential for over 30 degrees of lean. All of this gives us more suspension travel and lean angle than you would normally expect from a Sportster model.

Twin-pot calipers bind the overkill-sized, 300 mm front brake discs, with a third dual-piston binder in back. You can add the ABS option for a few dollars more, or go old-school with the unaugmented brake system. I would point out that the dual-piston-and-anvil calipers act as the limiting factor to avoid overbraking I suppose. A 120 / 70R19 front and 150 / 70R18 rear hoop rounds out the rolling chassis with a decidedly street-racy tread profile.

Drivetrain

The Sportster lineup has essentially been used the same basic engine design since 1986, so this engine has certainly paid its dues. There have been a number of innovations and improvements over the years that make this mill superior to its forebears, no matter how much they look alike. Harley goes to fuel injection across the board to meet emissions standards, but so far have kept the Sportster as an air-cooled mill in its characteristic, 45-degree V-Twin configuration.

The 3.5-inch bore and 3,811-inch strokes add up to 1202.8 cc (73.4 cubic-inches), and the mill runs a 10-to-1 compression ratio, not particularly hot, but high enough to take mid-grade at least. All this combines to produce 76 pounds-feet of torque at 3,750 rpm and 48 mpg. This is plenty of power for explosive hole shots and relatively quick acceleration, but top-end is still only going to be around 100-ish, so it's quick, but not necessarily fast.

Unlike my 2000 Sporty, rubber isolation mounts prevent much of the vibration from transferring to the frame, and so it will be less fatiguing on the highway. A five-speed transmission and belt drive makes the final connection to the rear wheel and pavement.

Price

As usual, Harley is quite proud of its product, and it shows on the sticker. The base model in Vivid Black with Charcoal Denim pinstripe will set you back $ 11,199 for 2016 with 2017 MSRP just $ 100 more. As usual, the King of Paint offers upgrades paint packages with the Black Denim / red pinstripe or Velocity Red Sunglo / red pinstripe for $ 11,649, and the two-tone, Billet Silver / Vivid Black for $ 11,849. ABS will run you another $ 795, and the security option is another $ 395. California brothers and sisters can expect to see another bill tacked on for your unique emissions requirements.

Voxan Wattman

After has disappeared for a good number of years, Voxan has decided to reenter in the "race" of motorcycle manufacturers. Therefore it developed an entire new motorcycle which has all it needs to take your breath away.

The new bike was designed by Sasha Lakic, is entirely electric and has managed to take everybody by surprise when it made its debut at the Paris Motorcycle Show on December 2nd.

It is called the Wattman and currently is the fastest electric motorcycle available on the open market.

This electric beauty weighs 350 kg and at its heart lies an electric motor with permanent magnets and liquid cooling, that puts out a maximum power of 200 HP with 200 Nm of instant torque up to 10,500 rpm. This power is enough to send you to 100 kmph in only 3.4 seconds which is fairly impressive for an electric motorcycle.

Another impressive thing is the motorcycle's architecture, as the new Wattman features an innovative exoskeleton which contains the battery, motor and cooling systems. You also get carbon wheels, a 240mm Pirelli Commander II rear tire and a 12.8kWh battery that can be charged to 80% in 30 minutes.

Overview

Voxan has today achieved a major revolution in French HP upscale machine which is radically innovative in its technology and its architecture.

WATTMAN illustrates the new techniques and stylistic direction of the brand with avant-garde technologies in the field of electric mobility and a design that anticipates the shape of bikes to come.

Technology

A 200 HP electric shock
Powered by the first Voxan electric motor with permanent magnets and liquid cooling, WATTMAN delivers a phenomenal power of 200 HP with 200 Nm instant torque up to 10,500 rpm. It is positioned as the most powerful electric motorcycle ever built, at a much higher level of performance in many respects than the best combustion motorcycles.

WATTMAN is engineered in Monaco and made in France Voxan Wattman.

0 - 160 km / h in 5.9 s
The power is transmitted to earth by a 240 mm wide tire, reaching 0-100 kph in 3.4 seconds and 0-160 kph in 5.9 seconds.

Synonymous with new sensations, WATTMAN offers driving pleasure in its purest form, equally capable of lightning acceleration and flexibility, thanks to its belt drive electric motor.

Recharged in less than 30 min
The new VOXAN features an exceptional charging time of 80% in less than 30 minutes thanks to a "COMBO II" socket, the European standard quick charge. This is less time than it takes to recharge a mobile phone. It can also be plugged to a standard household socket, anywhere thanks to its integrated charger.
Its ultra-compact 12.8kWh battery ensures 180 km of range.

Design

The 2.0 motorcycle
Such an Ultra High Tech object or work of modern technological art draws its inspiration from the future to exist in the present.

Voxan inaugurates a new motorcycle architecture radically looking to the future with an aluminum "exoskeleton" chassis housing integrating all the components of the powertrain. It is accompanied by a new type of parallelogram-shaped four-link suspension (two dual oscillating arms) that creates an extension of the battery pack towards the rear axle. This horizontality gives the bike stability and elegance.

«This aluminum housing which encloses the battery is the motorcycle's signature. You can tell from this design that it is an electric machine. ». -Sacha Lakic, designer

This results in a very pure motorcycle without visible technical features.

Triumph America

The Triumph America has had a few updates this year to make it aesthetically pleasing to ride. it has a lowered seat height of 27.1 inches which will allow for almost anyone to put there flat feet on the ground for support and control while stopped. It is lightweight at 550 pounds, has a long wheelbase of 63.6 inches and an 865cc DOHC, parallel-twin engine for power.

Overview

From a cross-town hop to an intercontinental tour, the America LT will take you there in style. Based on the engine, chassis and legendary styling of Triumph America, the LT adds a layer of touring capability and an enviable range of factory fitted extras designed to make those distrances a breeze. All the while maintaining the traditional deep chrome and polished detailing demanded of a classic cruiser, of course.

Styling:

Engine

Striking machined fins picks out the distinctive parallel twin shape, while chrome engine covers are offset against jet-black barrels and crankcases. A pair of wide, dramatically splayed exhaust pipes dominate the LT's front three-quarter profile with their classic 'header-run' following a straight line from the throttle bodies through to the headers. Triumph parallel twin heritage for all to see and admire.

Chassis

Swept-back classic styling, characterized by details such as the dramatic slab top yoke, center-mounted white-faced speedo, large single headlight, chrome tank console housing and filler cap, and hand-painted tanks and mudguard coachlines.

Engine:

Performance
Built to be ridden, not just to look good. The America's 865cc parallel-twin puts out a healthy 61PS with strong torque at low revs, peaking at 72Nm at just 3300rpm. Ideal for urban cruising at low speed revs at motorway speeds, even with a passenger or luggage on board.

This vertical twin is a true original. Drawing on Triumph heritage from fifties and sixties parallel twins and coupling that with modern technology and build standards, the engine in the America has a laid-back riding character that is unique to the cruiser world.

Configuration
Straight away people notice the America's unmistakably British style. Its pair of cylinders stand upright and proud and make a powerful statement. And, being air-cooled there's no radiator to spoil the view.

Chassis:

Suspension
With forks raked out at a shallow angle and feature polished shrouding and silver legs that match the chrome springs and covers of the laid-down, twin rear shocks. The America's suspension works hard to provide laid-back comfort and road feedback in true cruiser style.

Handling
Long, low and stable like a cruiser should be.

Everything about the America's chassis is focussed on balance and Triumph has matched each component carefully to maintain that steady, intuitive feel.

As a result, it's agile enough for an exciting ride when the road gets interesting and is more capable through the corners than most of its rivals.

It's so well-balanced that it is ideal for inexperienced riders as well as a satisfying cruise for those with a lot of miles behind them.

Brakes
Never too sharp or intimidating, braking is looked after by single discs front and rear to provide plenty of stopping force, whilst maintaining the overall balance of the chassis so every moment of your ride is confident and controlled.

Wheels and Tires
The cast aluminum wheels are small in diameter. 16 and 15 inches front and rear and fitted with chunky, deep sidewall tyres for a classic cruiser look and a more comfortable cushioned ride.
Seat Height
A seat height of just 690mm makes the America easy to control when gliding through traffic or parking. In fact, the set-up suits many riders that find other bikes too tall. Whatever your height though, easy positioning of the bars, seat and footrests means you'll quickly find your most relaxed and comfortable cruising posture.

Riding Position
As a pure unadulterated cruiser, your riding position should be upright, laid back and spacious. But never at the expense of comfort and sheer riding pleasure. So the America's bars hang high back so that the controls are closer to you. And Triumph has set the footrests far enough for comfort, without being too much of a stretch. Putting you in firm, confident control of your bike during busy urban riding or long-distance travel.

Footboards
High-quality aluminum foot-boards and removable skid plates come with a classic heel / toe gear shift, positioning the rider's feet for maximum comfort and control.

Saddlebags
At the back, the America LT's generous leather panniers are showerproof and come with metal buckles over durable, easy-to-use plastic clips.

Windshield
The tall wind-shield deflects the worst of the weather and is easily detachable (via a pair of spring-loaded levers at each side of the screen) to achieve a completely alternative look.

Back Rest - Sissy Bar
Triumph added a pillion backrest to add all day comfort for your passenger too.

Yamaha Raider SCL

The Yamaha Star Raider SCL is a custom limited production bike with stainless steel braided lines, blacked out components and a genuine leather seat. It has applied to it the new dark Matte Iron paint and has oxidized titanium coated fork tubes. Only about 500 models of the 2014 Yamaha Star Raider SCL will be produced.

Design

The low 27.4-inch seat height and an almost 71-inch wheelbase give the Raider a long, low profile. The tank-mounted instrumentation includes analog speedometer and fuel gauge, along with twin digital tripmeters, odometer and self-diagnostics. Lighting details include a multi-reflector headlight, an LED taillight, and custom amber LED turn signals behind clear lenses let's "see-and-be-seen" for safety's sake. The deep-scoop, butt-cradling sculpted seat and pullback handlebars make for a comfortable, easy-cruisin 'rider triangle. Components on the "S," such as the triple clamps, fork sliders, air box and engine covers, headlight housing and handlebar risers, get a little bling that distinguished it from the base Raider.

Chassis

Yammi gave the Raider a 33-degree steering head, and the triple tree that has a six-degree offset to give the front forks a remarkable-for-a-stock-bike 39-degree total rake . This rake, coupled with the 4.72-inch trail, makes the bike track well on the straights, while still comfortable for highway trips.

Beefy and stiff 46 mm fork tubes take care of the front end, and a hidden monoshock supports the swingarm giving the rear a clean look. The front suspension travel is a comfortable 5.1 inches, but the rear only allows for 3.5 inches, making her a little stiff especially when carrying a passenger or well-laden bags.

Monoblock brake calipers work with the dual-front 298 mm discs and the 310 mm rear disc to provide the 730-pound curb weight plus rider braking power to control. Speaking of control, the ample contact patches afforded by the big 120 / 70-21 front wheel and the fat 210 / 40-18 rear wheel give you plenty of traction where it counts. This 210-series rear tire is the biggest Yammi has installed on a bike up to this year.

Drivetrain

The air-cooled, 48-degree V-twin engine in the Raider cuts a distinct American figure, and on the "S", it draws the eye with chrome accents and 'jeweled' cooling fins over black paint. It's a big engine with a voluminous displacement of 1,854 cc, and we do like us some big engines on this side of the pond.

Four pushrod-actuated valves lets these big lungs breathe while the dual spark plugs handle efficient flame propagation, all being fed by the twin-bore, computer-controlled fuel injection system. Yammi used ceramic-composite plated pistons and pressurized oil jets to aid in the air-cooled engines.

The fetching chrome exhaust system helps to boost torque while the integral three-way catalyst and O2 sensor keeps emissions under control.

Honda Interstate

The Honda Interstate includes a powerful V-twin engine that gives an abundant amount of torque, floorboards that are full size, a windscreen for protection from the wind, and leather hardcover saddlebags for the longer trips. It also comes with a heel-toe shifter, and a low seat for the added control at stops.

Overview

A cool, custom bike. The open road. And a week off. Does life get any better? Maybe-if that bike's a Honda Shadow Interstate. With the Interstate you get the best of all worlds. For cruising or everyday riding, the Interstate has a clean, progressive style, plenty of motor and a look that is going to make a big impression everywhere you ride. But add in a little vacation time and the Interstate is happy to stretch its legs and take you wherever you like, even if it's a couple thousand miles away.

The Interstate's 1312cc V-twin engine generates plenty of low-end torque for urban rides, but is big enough for multi-day trips on long highways or over mountain passes. Shaft final drive gives you a clean, crisp look on the street, but its maintenance reducing features.

Everywhere you look, the Interstate offers the details that set it apart: roomy floorboards, leather-clad saddlebags, custom windscreen. And best of all? A look nothing else can touch.

Honda Fury Chopper

The Honda Fury is a chopper with a V-twin engine with fuel injection instead of a choke. It has alloy wheels with the 200 series tires in the rear, a low seat height for added control while stopped at a light giving more of the chopper feel and a long fork in the front. The Honda Fury has also been equipped with an aluminum swingarm for less added weight.

The Fury gets the wild side of Honda out for everyone to see and enjoy. No VTX or Shadow model has ever featured the engine sibling - the VTX 1300 - and feeds it through an advanced PGM-FI system.

Apparently that's all that should surprise us, but something about the eccentric scenario created by Honda. You take a look at the bike and enjoy finally seeing a veritable Japanese custom motorcycle in front of your eyes and there's that shaft final drive ruining it all. Why? The only explanation is the fact that Honda people can not abstain themselves from delivering a product that is as reliable as they know they can deliver and simply said "the hell with belt drive" and the result is not bad at all, just a little hard to get used seeing.

The transmission is a five-speed unit, like on all the custom bikes, making the Honda Fury ideal both for boulevard and highway cruising, although it's a Honda incineration for the Honda Genuine Accessories department.

What's probably the best of it apart from the bulletproof engine and tranny package is the 38-degree rake. This makes the exposed frame and slim fork suddenly look good, but there's plenty more to this bad boy and it involves style and attitude.

Competition

Honda's move was a very calculated one and they entered the category in which they had the least chances to fail. For example, if they would have taken the VTX 1800 engine, fuel injected it and have it power a custom bike, the Star Raider and Raider S would have still enjoyed a big share of the market though I do not doubt Honda's abilities to make a change in that concern. On the other hand, the Shadow engine was simply too small and the Vulcan 900 Custom already present on the market.

Benefiting of the "class leader" Fury 1300 as we reckon that an 1800cc and 750cc (or maybe 900cc) models will soon follow.

Exterior

If technically the Fury does not radically stand out, stylistically, it is a trendsetter for the Japanese crowd. No other manufacturer before Honda Yamaha and Kawasaki because they deliver cruiser derived models, not choppers. Actually, I'm wondering if chopper builders in the United States would have pulled it through in an outstanding manner.

As seen, designers had the simplest approach to it and the Fury seems like a stripped down to its bare necessities although it is not a modified cruising motorcycle, but an all-new chopper. Like on all such motorcycles, the engine is the centerpiece. In this case, a 1,312cc liquid-cooled 52-degree V-twin fully covered in chrome shines beautifully at the middle of the 71.24 inches wheelbase, the longest know of any production bike ever.

The right side two-into-two exhaust is nicely contoured around the engine and gearbox while the silencers try to create that illegal look while still meeting EPA (CARB in California) emission regulations. With the radiator positioned in between the frame's A-shaped pipes, the Fury looks like a no-gap between the front cylinder and gas tank? Not sure what to think, but as long as it makes a point for the 38-degree caster angle, I totally dig it.
